The Fruit Cup

The Classic Fruit Cup

This bright refreshing non-alcoholic cocktail mimics some of the delicious characteristics of a Pimm's Cup; and as Wimbledon's fortnight of strawberry indulgence has just begun, I thought it fitting to show a non-alc version of one of my favorite summer cocktails.

There are many different versions of the quintessential English summertime thirst quencher but Gin has always been in the No 1 Cup.

Here, I’m using The Spirit of Gin blended with our brand new The Spirit of Milano plus a healthy dash or 2 of bitters to recreate the unique flavors of the Pimm's Cup. The fizz comes from a combination of Fever-Tree’s Spicy Ginger Ale and Distillers Cola which adds some extra botanicals to the mix.

A fruit cup needs a plethora of berries, citrus and of course cucumber to finish the cocktail and if you're lucky enough to be in the right season, an edible flower called Borage should adorn the drink. A beautiful cocktail that would look quite at home atop a lady's hat at Ascot or perhaps Wimbledon.
