Why We Add B-Vitamins to Our Non-Alcoholic Spirits and Cocktails

Bottles and cans of Free Spirits with bar tools and a book about b-vitamins and cocktails

We don’t drink cocktails to count milligrams. We drink to connect. To mark a moment. To sip something beautiful, built with intention.

But when we set out to reimagine what a cocktail could be, we couldn’t ignore the reality: most drinks come at a cost. So we asked ourselves: what if your drink didn’t just taste good, but gave something back?

That’s where the B-vitamins come in.

Why We Add B-Vitamins to Our Cocktails and Spirits

We’re not making smoothies. We’re not here to optimize you. But we do believe in drinks that support how you feel—not just while sipping, but after.

That’s why we add three B-vitamins across both our spirits and our canned cocktails:

  • B3: Supports healthy metabolism and nervous system function
  • B6: Helps regulate mood and support neurotransmitter production
  • B12: Promotes focus, memory, and cognitive clarity

No jitters, no weird aftertaste. Just subtle, supportive function that fits into the experience without overwhelming it. You won’t taste them, but your body will thank you later.

Note: Our Espresso Old Fashioned does have caffeine, because sometimes you need that kick.

B3

B6
Mood

B12
Clarity

What If You’re Also Drinking Alcohol?

Most people aren't going completely alcohol-free—they're drinking smarter. Maybe it's zebra striping (alternating between alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks), maybe it's just cutting back without cutting out the fun.

Here's where it gets interesting.

Alcohol has this sneaky habit of depleting your B-vitamins, even after just one night out. The Merck Manual, Mayo Clinic, and NIH all confirm this—your body literally uses up these essential nutrients processing alcohol.

So when you're mixing Free Spirits into your night, you're not just avoiding some alcohol calories. You're actually helping to replenish what drinking takes away.

A Functional Cocktail (Without the Lecture)

We didn't add vitamins to virtue signal or slap "healthy" on our labels. We added them because cocktails should give something back.

We’re here for the flavor. For the ritual. For that feeling when the light hits the glass just right. But also for the clarity after. The energy tomorrow. The little bit of balance that keeps it all feeling good.

We’re not mixing health drinks. We’re mixing cocktails — with a purpose.

TL;DR:

B-vitamins support your mood, sharpen your mind, and help your body bounce back. You might not notice them in the moment, but your body will.
